GetEventLog

Shows the current system event log (including both BIOS and BMC event logs) from the managed system. With the --file option, the event log can be saved in an EventLog.txt file.

Syntax

OOB

saa -i <IP or host name> -u <username> -p <password> -c GetEventLog [--info | --mfg] | [--raw_data] [--no_banner] [--year | --month | --day] [--format CSV] [--redfish] [--file <EventLog.txt> [--overwrite]]

In-Band

saa [-I Redfish_HI -u <username> -p <password>] -c GetEventLog [--info | --mfg] | [--raw_data] [--no_banner] [--year | --month | --day] [--format CSV] [--file <EventLog.txt> [--overwrite]]

Multiple Systems OOB

saa -l <system list file> [-u <username> -p <password>] -c GetEventLog [--info | --mfg] | [--raw_data] [--no_banner] [--year | --month | --day] [--format CSV] [--redfish] [--file <EventLog.txt> [--overwrite]]

Options

  • --file <file name>: Saves the event log to a file (prints on screen if the file-saving function is not available)
  • --overwrite: Overwrites the output file
  • --raw_data: Prints the raw data of each event log
  • --info: Prints the current and total capacity of the event log
  • --mfg: Prints general information of event logs in a style that complies with the manufacturer's assembly line requirements
  • --year <year>: Filters event logs within n years
  • --month <month>: Filters event logs within n months
  • --day <day>: Filters event logs within n days
  • --format <file format>: Saves the event log to a file in CSV format
  • --redfish: Enables support for pure Redfish

Notes

  • If the execution "Status" field of the managed system shows SUCCESS, the console output of the managed system will be shown in the "Execution Message" section of the managed system in the created log file.
